COVID CARE SERVICES

We offer Covid 19 care plans for patients in the home care setting and meet the needs of the patient suffering from mild to moderate symptoms. Covid 19 can result in a host of complications for these patients and our care plans provide the patient with interventions that focus on the respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological and renal systems. Having an effective care plan may help reduce mortality.

COVID-19 SYMPTOMS

Covid 19 symptoms can include chronic cough, fibrotic lung disease, bronchiectasis and pulmonary vascular diseases all of which can cause long-term lung damage.

WHAT WOULD

MY CARE PLAN INCLUDE

Our nurses assess each body system to determine the best approach and plan of care.  Your plan could include any or all of the following:

RESPIRATORY PLAN OF CARE

Patients are often placed on oxygen and or ventilators with severe cases of Covid 19, and because of this our primary focus is on the respiratory system. 

Focus: to improve lung capacity and maintain optimal oxygen saturation.

Teaching effective use of Incentive spirometry.

Teaching breathing techniques.

Application of moisture and heat to increase respiratory secretions.

Oral care.

Oxygen safety and management (patients on oxygen).

Teaching how to effectively self-monitor oxygen saturation levels and the effective emergency procedures in cases of shortness of breath and chest pain.

CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM PLAN OF CARE

Developing clotting disorders can lead to heart attack or stroke.

FOCUS: to prevent cardiovascular problems.

Encourage mobility.

How to use compression stockings or device until the patient can resume normal activity level.

Teaching emergency management for severe leg or chest pain.

Teaching how to identify the signs and symptoms of stroke and the importance of early responses.

Nurse will assess and monitor for neurological symptoms.

RENAL SYSTEM PLAN OF CARE

One of the most commonly reported symptoms of Covid 19 is the loss of taste and smell and leads to the risk of renal complications due to poor intake.

FOCUS: to prevent decreased hydration and nutritional status.

Teaching the importance of eating and drinking sufficient amounts.

Teach caregivers and patients how to monitor adequate intake and output.

Teach caregiver and patient when to call the primary care provider when intake is not adequate.

Client Care Assistance

Focus: offer more ways to assist patient with daily living skills.

Care providers can handle any number of patient care tasks.

Preparing a room with enhanced sanitizing and infection control.

Grooming and bathing assistance.

Assistance with eating and drinking.

Monitoring and reporting change in mood or behaviors.

Assisting with mobility issues and transfers in and out of bed to wheelchair.

Pressure sore prevention.

Assistance with ambulation.

Provide reassurance and comfort.

We also offer rapid Covid 19 home testing kits at an additional cost. All of our care providers have been screened and vaccinated for Covid 19. We provide all staff members with the proper PPE for their personal protection and we adhere to enhanced infection control standards to maintain the best environment for our patients.
