Nursing is a second career for me. When I made the decision to become a nurse, I vowed to myself to be the best nurse possible, to provide patients with the best care and comfort needed to make a difference in that patient’s outcome. I also vowed to be compassionate and supportive for that caregiver and to provide informed care to them both.
I found during clinicals that I had a special passion for seniors and patients in need of long-term and chronic care. There is a great need for nurses with this population of patients and I became certified in long-term care and basic geriatric care through the National Association for Practical Nurse Education and Service (NAPNES).
I also have years of experience in wound care, and while working with wound care I realized the difficulty in taking care of chronic wounds. I developed an all-natural wound cream that eliminates the biofilm that lives on the wound bed and hinders the wound healing process. After doing a focused clinical study and obtaining much data and evidence, in January 2020, I obtained my provisional patent for a biofilm eliminator that will be used to treat chronic and slow-healing wounds. Presently my data is in review with Johnson and Johnson, one of the largest leaders in consumer products.
